General Licensing Questions
How do I get my Florida real estate license?
To become a licensed real estate sales associate in Florida, you must:
- Complete a 63-hour pre-licensing course
- Submit your application to the
Florida DBPR
- Complete fingerprinting and a background check
- Pass the state real estate exam
- Activate your license with a sponsoring broker

How long does it take to complete the pre-licensing course?
Our 63-hour pre-licensing course can be completed in as little as one week with accelerated study or over several weeks with a part-time schedule. Online and in-person options are available for maximum flexibility.
What happens after I pass the exam?
Once you pass your state exam, you’ll need to:
- Submit proof to the DBPR
- Get sponsored by a licensed broker
- Activate your license
Then, you can legally practice as a real estate agent in Florida!

Do you offer online real estate courses?
Yes! Through our Online Course Portal, you can access pre-licensing, post-licensing, continuing education, broker prep, and more—all at your own pace.
Can I attend classes in person?
Absolutely. We offer in-person real estate courses at our Tampa campus with flexible schedules—including evenings and weekends.

Whether you’re taking the
sales associate or broker exam, we help you prepare to pass on your first attempt.
How many questions are on the Florida real estate exam?
The Florida sales associate exam includes 100 multiple-choice questions. You must score at least 75% to pass.
What if I fail the state exam?
If you don’t pass, don’t worry—we’ll help you create a new study plan and retake the prep course (if needed). Many students succeed on their second try with our support.
Advanced Licensing & Specialties
Do you offer broker licensing courses?
Yes. Our 72-hour broker pre-licensing course prepares you to earn your Florida broker license. We also offer:
- Broker post-licensing
- Accelerated exam prep (online and in person)
- Investment and commercial real estate training
What is post-licensing and is it required?
Yes. All new licensees must complete
45 hours of post-licensing within their first renewal period. We offer flexible, FREC-approved post-licensing options.
Do you offer continuing education?
Absolutely. Our 14-hour continuing education courses are required every two years and cover legal updates, ethics, and current real estate topics.
